Dog Day Draft Agenda

Dog Day Rules

Susan Rack and Sharon Herman are heading a project to hold a DOG DAY celebration on October 31.  Brookline has acquired quite a lot of new dogs during COVID (!) and we have lots and lots of dogs and dog-lovers in town!  We have joined forces with the Brookline Green Dog Program to identify dog owners and get the word out.
The team has been hard at work all summer recruiting vendors and sponsors and planning an exciting program of events for the celebration!  There will be demonstrations of dogs many talents and abilities to help humans, vendors of dog-related items and services, and of course lots of food and fun!
We will need 200 hours of volunteer time on Brookline Rotary Dog Day, Oct. 31, from 11-4, at the Aspinwall/Brookline Ave dog park.  We are asking people to sign up in two hour shifts starting at 10 a.m. and going till 5 p.m.  Volunteer opportunities range from set up to clean up and everything in-between, including registration, vendor aides, face painting, helping with the costume parade, and lots more.  Enjoy all aspects of the event by signing up for several shifts in various places!  Family members over 13 are also encouraged to sign up to help.  We truly need all hands on deck for this event.  We will follow the town of Brookline's COVID protocols to maximize safety for all.  Here's the link:
Any questions, contact Laura Walters at or Iggy Shvartsberg at
It's ALL HANDS ON DECK -- Please do whatever you can to support this effort.  AND HAVE FUN!
Best wishes,
