Brookline Rotary is working on their first service project of the year: School supplies for low income children. For many children in the Brookline area, the inability to start the school year without the basic school supplies, places these student from the beginning behind their more advantaged classmates. As we did last year, the service committee will be collecting school supplies and/or donations for school supplies starting 7/18/19. Those who wish to contribute may bring either specific items or cash donation to any meeting between now and August 16th. Items that are needed include pencils, pens, notepaper and notebooks, highlighters, crayons, staplers, etc. The plan will be to pack the back packs at a special meeting at 6:00PM on 8/29/19 at the VFW Post on Washington St. This meeting will be in lieu of our regular noon meeting. If you are unable to attend one of the meetings before then and would like to pledge a donation, please contact Susan Rack. RSVP for the 29th to either Susan or Marina as we will have pizza for those attending and need a head count.
